“. . . Nancy combines the best of a left and right brained talent – she is incredibly organized and has an impeccable sense of style and eye for detail”.
“ . . . her co-workers and colleagues call her the “velvet hammer” . . . kind and empathetic as the situation demands, and direct and focused when a job must get done”.
I am often asked, “What is your favorite part of weddings that you plan?”
Every element of the wedding ceremony thrills me – the choreography, the pageantry, the sense of anticipation in the air, but in particular it’s that enchanted moment when I’m standing behind closed doors, waiting for our musical cue, with the bride and her parents just before they walk down the aisle. This moment in time captures the best of the past, present and future for this family, as they admire their beloved child, and arm in arm process the wedding aisle to greet the future.
WHO IS NANCY?
Nancy is . . .
I began staging backyard musical theatre events at the age of nine. Always living in my imagination, I immersed myself in writing the scripts, finding theme music, designing and sewing the costumes, building the sets, applying the makeup, and narrating the shows. I was hooked and knew I was born to be a wedding and event planner.
After high school, I studied fashion design at Ryerson University in Toronto. Four years later, I graduated with high honors and a design degree, and came away with real world practical experience in the exciting world of the wedding industry. Saturday afternoons found me modeling designer wedding gowns for prospective brides in an elegant salon at the Robert Simpson Company’s downtown store.
My entrepreneurial instincts and self-starter attitude guided me through my early 20’s, and I launched two romantic boutique businesses, Heritage Roses and The Enchanted Basket.
Along the way I had 4 children, produced special events for a major department store, managed Olivia Newton John’s “Koala Blue” fashion stores, hosted the first wedding at the fabulous Casa Loma, co-founded the Stowe Theatre Guild and produced dozens of stage musicals. It was time to launch my own Vermont wedding event company.
Fast forward 30+ years, and hundreds of weddings and delighted couples later, I LOVE what I do now more than when I began. After all, I am in the business of making dreams come true, and helping families celebrate life’s greatest milestones. No greater honor could be mine!
